Dr. William W. Li is a world-renowned physician, scientist, and author. Best known for leading the Angiogenesis Foundation, Dr. Li began a crusade in 1994 to bring ‘angiogenesis’ from the research laboratory to the patient bedside. His work ultimately led to 32 life-altering, FDA-approved therapeutics and devices.

Today, Dr. Li’s vision for angiogenesis has been actualized. In addition to its clinical applications, angiogenesis is now its own scientific field and is taught in high school science classes. He has forged collaborations with the National Institutes of Health, the World Health Organization, and the Food and Drug Administration. His accomplishments have been recognized by the Milken Institute and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Vatican has twice invited Dr. Li to present his vision for the future of health, and his wildly popular TED Talk ‘Can We Eat to Starve Cancer’ has garnered more than 11 million views. In 2010, Bono, the lead singer of the band U2, writing in The New York Times, called Dr. Li one of the top 10 to watch for in the coming decade “with the potential to change the world.”
