In an interview with The Times, Dr. William Li shares surprising foods from his new book EAT TO BEAT DISEASE that science shows can help you protect against disease.

Here’s an excerpt from The Times:

Scientists now know that a vast range of foods can activate each system, bringing precision to our understanding of how diet can promote health and protect against disease. In his book Li draws on more than 30 years of medical research, citing more than 200 beneficial foods, with 700 scientific references. “It’s not just about the food,” he says, “but about how our body responds.” At every meal, we can eat “to help our stem cells, stimulate our circulation, protect our DNA, feed our bacteria and boost our immunity”. Diet isn’t a substitute for modern medicine, it’s another power tool.
